Only ONE shelter left for the Warner Parks Shelter Dinner! ⏳ Don't miss your chance to enjoy an unforgettable evening under the trees in support of the Parks. 🌳 Removing Invasives, Restoring Native Habitats 🌿 Last week, we removed a group of Bradford Pear trees by the baseball fields in Edwin Warner Park. While they may look pretty in the spring, this fast-growing invasive species spreads aggressively, outcompeting our native trees for space, sunlight, and resources. To support our local ecosystem, we’re replacing invasives like the Bradford Pear with native trees like redbuds and dogwoods—which provide essential food and habitat for Tennessee’s wildlife. 🦋🐦 The Tennessee Legislature recently called for a study on the impact of Bradford Pears on agriculture, and the tree is already banned in three states. We’re doing our part to restore our parklands—can you help at home? 🌱 Consider removing Bradford pears from your property and planting natives instead! Together, we can protect our environment and keep Tennessee’s native landscapes thriving 💚 📸 @tlcoutside
