Join us as we walk along the Greenway path next to the Little Harpeth River in search of birds. This river corridor offers an abundant mix of resident and migrating birds. Registration required.

Each year in August and September, hummingbirds from the eastern United States migrate down to Mexico and Central America where they will spend the winter before heading back north in the spring. Started in 2002, our hummingbird banding research focuses on the health, timing, and population dynamics of migrating hummingbirds. Join us for a banding session during Hummingbird Celebration to observe the banding process and learn all about hummingbirds.

“Birds and Art” is a discussion focused on Liz's work as a scientific illustrator and fine artist, sharing the story of how she became an artist focused on birds. Liz will demonstrate her approach to “bird art” and participants will also be able to try their own hand at drawing birds. Registration is required.
